Dodge Car Floor Mats
Car floor mats are designed to maintain cleanliness, prevent rapid wear of the original coating and salt corrosion of the floor. Accessories can be divided into two large categories: fabric and rubber. The second category of products is much more practical and suitable for any season, so most car owners try to buy exactly these car mats for their Dodge.
Rubber is the conventional name for all elastic coatings made of various polymeric materials, each of which has its own pros and cons:
- Rubber itself is vulcanized rubber, and this material has the most affordable price. The most popular rubber mats for Dodge are those with a high side, which perfectly retain moisture and dirt, provide good adhesion of the coating to the floor and to the feet. However, such mats weigh more than accessories made of modern polymers, and also crack over time, since rubber, under the influence of low temperatures, "hardens" and loses elasticity.
- Polyurethanes are synthetic polymers made from petroleum. Two types of polyurethane are used to make car mats: TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) and TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). Both combine the properties of durable plastic and the elasticity of rubber, making the materials more wear-resistant and better able to withstand temperature changes. At the same time, the performance characteristics of car mats for Dodge made of TPE polyurethane are slightly higher than those made of regular polyurethane, so such accessories are more expensive.
- EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a modern polymer material that is distinguished by its lightest weight and highest elasticity. EVA floor mats for Dodge do not lose their properties at temperatures from -50 to +500C, perfectly resist the effects of UV rays, are not afraid of contact with salt and chemical reagents. The disadvantage of EVA floor mats for Dodge cars can be considered a higher price, but it is fully justified by the high performance characteristics and durability of the material.
