Cargo lashing straps are used to secure cargo during transportation by various types of transport, such as car trailers, tow trucks, trailers, and cargo ships. These devices are widely used by transport companies, towing services, and companies specializing in moving.
Lashing straps are usually made of textile tapes, 25 to 100 mm wide. Polyester is most often used for their production, due to its high strength characteristics. The belt has a metal ratchet lock, which acts as a tensioning device. Like textile slings, belts can be ring (when the ends of the tape are connected, and it is a closed ring) or with hooks fixed at both ends. The latter are usually used when transporting large-sized cargo, such as cars on a tow truck. A ring strap can be used to secure the load on the pallet.
The tie-down straps have the following features:
-
Reliable load securing: the ratchet lock securely clamps the strap, and even with strong jolts and turns during transportation, the tension of the strap does not weaken.
-
Gentle load retention: the soft material of the strap will not damage the surface of the transported item, its paintwork or shape. Even with strong jolts during movement, the elastic band will smooth out these loads.
-
Use in all weather conditions: the tie-down straps can be used outdoors, even in rain or snow. The material hardly absorbs moisture and does not stretch when wet.
